Traffic Engineering Design

Traffic engineering design is vital to the safe and effective movement along a roadway or within a parking lot. Whether you are planning for a new traffic signal, signage, or garage circulation pattern, The Traffic Group is ready to provide expert design assistance.

Working through AutoCAD and Intergraph Microstations, our designers and planners test various alternatives and prepare plan revisions with accuracy. We have developed a spreadsheet program for generating traffic signal equipment lists and cost estimates required for large contracts.

Our Traffic Engineering Design section works on both public and private projects. Our private work is concentrated in the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan area and surrounding counties. We have also undertaken signal design and related services in several other states, as well as internationally in Barbados and the Virgin Islands. 

For the public sector, the Traffic Engineering Design section has been awarded the following contracts:
