ALPR and Traffic Engineering

Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) Studies find their way in many aspects of traffic engineering, and play an important role in traffic studies. They can help identify travel patterns and roadway requirements, specifically areas that generate the most traffic. They identify flow patterns, alternate routes, new streets and new parking areas. Additionally they are integral in anticipating present and future traffic patterns and/or problems. Here is a map that shows the states where we have conducted ALPR projects.
