Movement Counts
Traffic
engineers often use counts of traffic (vehicles, pedestrians, bikes,
etc) passing a point, or through a intersection. The data can be
recorded or stored in many ways through manual counting and
automatic recording. As samples of actual traffic, traffic counts
are used in many ways, such as being used in a traffic impact study
or traffic signal warrant evaluation.
