Origin-Destination Study

Origin-destination study can be called in many fashions, such as origin destination study, origin/destination study, origin & destination study. It is short-formed as OD study, O-D study, O&D study or O/D study. Comprehensive origin-destination studies (origin-destination surveys) are usually for preparation of overall regional transportation studies. An OD study can vary largely in scale due to its purpose. They are conducted through personal interviews, mail interviews, license plate tracking, tag-on-vehicle method, lights-on method, or most recently, automatic license plate recognition (ALPR). The Traffic Group is proud of the fact that ALPR is part of our data collection effort.
