CCBC - Essex
Beginning in 1994, Wes Guckert (current Vice President) and The Traffic Group, Inc. became involved with the Essex Community College Foundation Board. The Traffic Group, Inc. understands that the future of the economic well being of the Baltimore region is highly dependent upon the classes and students of the Baltimore County Community College system. The Community Colleges of Baltimore County provide an extremely valuable resource for the economic well being of the Greater Baltimore area. The Essex Community College Foundation provides the College and students with grants and scholarships for those students that are most worthy of financial aid and for professors that have provided a willingness to think "outside the box" and need to have financial support for their goals and programs. Wes Guckert served on the Golf Committee until 2001. Since 1995, the Annual Golf Outing raised approximately $100,000 for the Foundation Board. For the year 2001, we are proud to announce that the Golf Committee raised $44,000, plus a matching grant of $44,000 from the State of Maryland, resulting in $88,000 raised for the Foundation’s Endowment.

In April 2006, Wes was elected President of the CCBC Essex Foundation Board comprised of 25 members with a mission to provide scholarships and other help to students at the CCBC Essex Community College. The CCBC Essex is currently endowed with approximately $3 million in funds to help produce on-going revenue for scholarships.
