The Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center
In 2002, Wes Guckert began serving on the Board of Trustees of this Center, located in Grasonville, Maryland, whose purpose is to sustain the life and ensure a future for the wetlands and wildlife of the Chesapeake Bay. The Center prides itself on the education, preservation, stewardship and research efforts the staff and volunteers conduct on the 500 acres of wetland and wildlife habitat surrounding the Bay. The education programs offered bring as many as 10,000 school students to the Center each year. The Center will become a world class statewide facility remaining in private hands; however, it will have a public/private relationship with the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration's
(NOAA) participation. The Traffic Group, Inc. has contributed $10,000 to the Center and are proud to be associated with this preservation effort to support the environment.
